How Healthy Is Your Mindset?
REINVENTION is a process that begins with self awareness; being honest with yourself.
As a leader, when was the last time you checked the health of your MINDSET?
How aware of your thoughts are you?
Have you detected any patterns that may benefit from deeper analysis orperhaps reframing?
Analysis can include:
Who you are ?
What you have and have not done, what you wish you had done?
What’s important to you and why it’s important now in your life?
What you’re capable of?
Who/ what you want to become?
When you’ll take the first step toward building the life you want?
Reinvention includes the act of replacing what is present with a new version OR changing something so much that it looks as though it’s new. It all begins with your mindset and what you can visualize in your mind.
Let me be transparent for a moment...
I know that the thought of reinventing for some, will cause bristles to rise or goose bumps to form. When asked, a few responses some people might say are: “I’m fine just as I am. I’m being my authentic self. People need just need to accept me as I am, or not accept me at all...either way I’m ok with that.”
The type of people who hire me see themselves as leaders. Some have teams reporting to them at work. Others volunteer in organizations outside of work. As a leader, ask yourself from time to time, how healthy your mindset is. This concept applies if you have taken on a leadership role in your immediate household as well.
Opportunities to reinvent yourself provide the ability to embrace the brilliance that is within so you can live in ways that define what is most important to you. Be advised, leaders have a responsibility to continue to seek personal and professional growth.
Embracing who you are includes acknowledging what your life experiences continue to teach you. It’s in these lessons that your confidence becomes stronger. Eliminating thoughts that are devoid of judgement and assumptions, often stemming from places where there is no evidence, can make room for growth.
For me, green plants symbolize health and life. They require water and sun to grow, just as leaders who value the pursuit of knowledge, require ongoing engagement and opportunities to learn.
Of course, the meaning of “growth” is different depending upon who defines it. You may dream of a future very different from your current life. Making your thoughts a reality often becomes challenging, so much so that many people do nothing more than to dream. If you are determined to grow, refusing to give up can include creating a vision of yourself as you boldly pursuit what you want, more diligently than ever before may be applicable. You may ask why?? My response will be, why not?! Why give in to living in ways which are not meaningful to you?
When you love and respect yourself, and you should, you’ll want to treat yourself in the best possible ways. Doing so comes from a place of honor and is not selfish. With honor , you’ll value the connection of your mind, body and soul. Being healthy in all aspects becomes important. You begin to focus less on looking back at what has already happened and instead selectively become more focused on what is yet to come. With this change in focus, clarity is born. From there you can identify where you want to be in the next phase of your life and begin the process to move forward.
“When Your Soul Whispers” to you, it’s an internal message that it’s time to begin the process of examining and possibly reinventing the next phase of your life so that you have less stress and can be happier doing what you were purposed to do at a time, such as this.
